I have over 25 years of experience delivering design projects across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on hotels and leisure. In 2020, I established YAM Architects, an RIBA chartered architectural practice based in the heart of this region.

From our studio in central Penrith, we work across a diverse landscape including the Eden Valley, Alston Moor, the Lake District National Park, and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Each project is shaped by its surroundings, and no two are ever the same. Every context is unique, and every solution is carefully considered and bespoke.

My approach to design is rooted in a deep understanding of place, sustainability, and, most importantly, the needs of the client. I believe that good architecture should reflect both the environment it sits within and the people it is created for.

I take a collaborative and approachable approach to every project. It is not just about producing drawings, but about listening, sharing ideas, and guiding clients through each stage of the process. Whether working on contemporary or historic buildings, in urban or rural settings, I combine creativity with practical knowledge to deliver designs that feel personal, considered, and built to last.

I also use the latest technologies to enhance the design process, helping to better understand existing buildings and explore new ideas with clarity and precision.
